Look out Terry Wogan, Guiseley FM is back in business and bursting with sensational sounds and taking requests.

For 21 days Guiseley FM will be entertaining every household in the area when it starts broadcasting on Monday.

The phone lines are open and anyone wanting to leave song requests or discuss local issues will be contacted once it hits the air waves.

This year the popular station has 28 presenters from old favourites to new mystery voices.

Unfortunately it has only been allocated three weeks instead of four and will not coincide with the Guiseley Festival due to the demand for air waves.

But it promises to be better than ever and leave Aireborough begging for more.

Assistant station manager, the Rev Simon Hammond said: "It is a whole new radio station this year, we will be looking at major issues effecting Guiseley.

"We will be having phone-in discussions on developments such as High Royds. There will be some of the usual presenters and some surprises.

"I am doing the breakfast slot and it promises to be three hours of madness.

"People can call in with their requests and dedications and we will get back to them all and put them on air."

Presenters include gentle giant Andrew Howard, Otley's mayor Nigel Francis, Steve Rhodes with Drive Time from 7pm to 10pm and Graham Hoult.

More than 20 children from Guiseley School will be taking part on the school slot between 4pm to 5.30pm.

Local groups will be holding shows, with Wharfedale Readers group holding its 'Book at Bedtime' show and dignitaries and MPs taking part.

To tune into the talented line-up turn your radios to 87.9FM and to leave requests and dedications for station manager Tony Toffick contact (01943) 872446 or visit website www.guiseleyfm.org.uk.

The studio was due to be delivered today and put in place outside the Baptist Church on Oxford Road.

Guiseley FM will run until Sunday, June 29, to cover the Guiseley Carnival.
