The Vision Football Coaching Academy is the largest independent football coaching school in West Yorkshire with over 150 boys and girls attending every Saturday at venues across Bradford. It caters for all levels with the more talented being coached at its advanced centre alongside specialist goalkeeping.
It was started in January 2001 and is the brainchild of Tibor Szabo, a former professional and semi-professional player with Bradford City, Macclesfield and Morecambe, and now has 15 qualified coaches involved.
PE teacher Szabo, who has coached at Leeds United, Bradford City and Halifax Town Centres of Excellence as well as various venues across the UK and the USA, set up the academy to offer professional football coaching and related activities such as speed and agility.
The Academy also offers coaching during the school holidays on two levels - fun-weeks for the less experienced players and coaching weeks for older players. These courses attracted over 100 players at Easter and 80 at Spring Bank, with players attending from as far as Boston Spa, Hebden Bridge and Wakefield.
There is a full summer programme planned from July 28 to August 30. The Academy also offers to send coaches to junior clubs who want to see some different ideas and for their players to see a different face to freshen things up for a period.
Szabo also delivers Football Association level one courses for junior managers and FA Teaching Certificate courses for teachers and students. The next level one coaching sessions are on June 22, 28 and 29.
The Saturday coaching times are 9.30 to 11am for five to 11-year-olds and 11.15am to 12.45pm for 12 to 16-year-olds.
Wednesday sessions are from 6.30 to 7.30pm at Hanson, all ages; and 4.45 to 5.45pm at Wyke Manor School, for all ages.
Coaching sessions are at the following schools: Hanson, Wrose; Rhodesway, Allerton; Whitechapel, Cleckheaton; Salts Grammar, Shipley; and Queensbury. Specialist goalkeeping coaching is at Whitechapel.
