Crompark suffered their second defeat of the season, this time at the hands of New Farnley. On another hot Saturday, New Farnley were put into bat. Things started well with four straight maidens.

However, the Crompark bowlers struggled to get anything out of the flat wicket. Akmal was the highlight in the field with a fine one handed catch. The New Farnley innings closed on 178-6.

The Crompark openers struggled to make the same impact although Phil Cooper stuck around for 35 overs for a stubborn 42. Dave Robinson tried to hurry the score along with some hefty blows as the overs ran out.

As the overs trickled away so did the Crompark tail with the last four wickets falling for less than ten runs. Nicky Oram was the pick of the bowlers with 7 for 39. Crompark fell 40 runs short but much further in terms of effort this week.

Crompark seconds batted first against Pudsey St Lawrence. Andy Halliday batted well despite stomach problems, knocking his second half century of the season before being bowled for 61.

Andy and Barry Foster put on 60 for the fifth wicket, before the collapse began, and the tail failed to wag.

The last six wickets fell for just eight runs, as Trapps finished with 3-7 and P Cavanagh 3-5 as Crompark were all out 127.

Pudsey made steady progress although Duckworth was well caught by Andy Hawthorne, it was unsighted by both umpires and he survived to make an unbeaten 69.

Pudsey won by eight wickets. Good fielding displays from Mark Shaw and Ben Whitaker saw the fielding point shared by them.
