Yeadon gained their first league win of the season when they faced Idle in the first of two clashes between the sides at the weekend.
Idle however got their revenge with a Priestley Cup win in a game that continued into Monday night from Sunday.
On Saturday Yeadon posted a good score of 205 for nine although it could have been nearer the 250 mark with a bit of care. Harvey Anderson and James Todd gave the innings an excellent start with a stand of 98.
Spinner Steve Lawrence then struck to dismiss Anderson for 71, Gulsharez Ahmed for nine and Jamie Kennaway for 0.
Opener Todd battled for 36 and skipper Grant Soames was run out for nine before the innings was given a boost by some good hitting from Jon Carey (22), James Postill (31) and Kevin Gilks (17).
Former Guiseley youngster Chris Thompson had one for 30 off eight overs while former Yeadon spinner Mark Nicklin had nought for 44. The Idle side also included Nicklin's nephew Nicky Heinemann, another former Yeadon CC junior who is now a professional footballer with Halifax.
Yeadon got just the start they wanted when John Roper bowled the dangerous Mark Gilliver in the first over and Idle were quickly nought for two when Postill picked up the wicket of Mick Stevenson to a slip catch by Anderson in the second over.
Things went from bad to worse for Idle as Yeadon got the bit between their teeth and produced an excellent bowling performance.
The venerable Roper (3-35 off 13 overs) was well backed up by Postill (2-35) and skipper Grant Soames (1-4) while Gulsharez Ahmed hit a purple patch with his four for 12 return off 6.2 overs and Idle were put out for 99.
There was to be no repeat in the cup though as Idle batted first and posted 242 for five with Gilliver making up for Saturday with a superb knock of 117 not out.
Yeadon lost openers Anderson and Kennaway fairly cheaply and were 99-3 after 20 overs when play ceased on Sunday.
Despite some lusty blows by Gulsharez Ahmed (35), James Todd (23) and Grant Soames (43) Yeadon were dismissed for 170 as Suluman got to grips with things and produced a return of five for 24 to give his side a 72 runs win.
Tony Gilks hammered a superb 98 as Yeadon Seconds set Undercliffe a target of 193 on Saturday. Unfortunately Yeadon's bowling was not up to it and Undercliffe coasted to a seven wickets win.
Yeadon however hit back on Sunday with an excellent win over Morley in the Priestley Shield which now gives them a home tie against Mirfield in the next round on Sunday, June 22.
Morley were restricted to 96 for six and with Darren Machell in superb form - aided by the big hitting Darren Smith - Yeadon gained an easy nine wickets win with over 20 overs left. Machell made an unbeaten 54.
