AIREBOROUGH and Wharfedale Judo Club's Adam Firth got on the medal rostrum at the Willesden Cadet Interna-tional with entries from most European countries.

This was the fourth time Adam has entered but the first time he has got in the medals.

He took the bronze in the 73kg category. This result was very pleasing because Adam has just moved into this category from 66kg and in most of his contests he was conceding a weight advantage.

Michael Bowmer, Airebor-ough's British Masters' champion and World Masters' bronze medallist, has just received a letter from the chairman of the British Judo Association, Densign White, inviting him to attend Masters squad training sessions.

The letter enclosed a Union Jack for Michael to sew onto his kit, making him a 'flag' player.

Neil Fletcher, of Pudsey Judo Club, who also coaches Adam Firth, has also received a letter of invitation and a 'flag' in recognition of his British Masters' bronze medal.
