The third running of the White Wells Fell Races was witness to some great competition from local athletes, especially in the junior categories.
In the Under-10s Wharfedale Harriers' Kieran Mitchell had to pull out all the stops to beat Ilkley's Joshua Crane, with Jess Wootton of Wharfedale Harriers close behind in third place winning the girls race.
The Under-12s' race saw a fantastic contest between long-time Wharfedale Harriers rivals Nathan Procter and Alex Sinclair.
They were locked together throughout, Nathan just having a bit more speed in the finishing straight to gain the upper hand.
Emma Thompson was third overall and won the girls' race.
The Under-14s saw a runaway win from the highly talented Jack Wood of Menston with Jack Thompson second and Wharfedale Harriers' Liam Selman in third place.
The senior race was contested by two more long-time local rivals, Stefan Macina and Jason Hemsley, with Stefan prevailing just as he had done the previous weekend when the same two were identically first and second in the Oban Triathlon.
The Veterans' race saw Wharfedale Harriers' John Wootton just hold off clubmate Bob Hamilton, the race organiser, on the final climb.
The ladies race was an all Ilkley Harriers affair with Emma Barclay winning comfortably over Alison Crane and Alison Weston.
Organiser Bob Hamilton said that many thanks were due to all those who helped out with the running of the event, especially those unsuspecting folk who were recruited on the day!
Thanks are also due to Terry Lonergan of The Complete Runner for his sponsorship of the event
