Nadeem Siddique is happy to play second fiddle at Pennington's tomorrow.

The unbeaten lightweight makes his first appearance on the undercard as fellow Bradford fighter Donovan Smillie takes centre

stage.

Smillie fights for the British Masters super-middleweight title against Cleethorpes' Mike Duffield in the strongest Sunday show yet staged by John Ingle.

Duffield outpointed Smillie at Derby in April last year but the home fighter has rejuvenated his career since and should have the power over the longer distance.

Siddique, who has topped the bill in his three previous outings, said: "I'm more nervous for Donovan than myself. Things are beginning to happen for him and he's desperate for a belt.

"He is a good pro but a lot of people in the gym didn't expect him to go far. But he has put in so much hard work for this and if he wins, there are some good opportunities beckoning.

"This is the first time I'll have the chance to enjoy one of his fights and watch it live. Normally I'm in the dressing room getting ready so it's great to be able to support him.

"I've watched the videos but that's not the same. I want to be in the ring with him afterwards celebrating his title.

"When I first came to the gym in Sheffield I didn't imagine that Donovan and I could become the next big things in Bradford after Junior Witter and Bobby Vanzie. But there is a real buzz about Bradford boxing now and we just want more and more."

Lightweight Siddique aims to extend his perfect pro start against Jason Nesbitt from Birmingham and he has been training for a knock-out finish.

He said: "I've been working on power and accuracy with Brendan Ingle. He used to do the same with Junior and Naz (Naseem Hamed), focusing purely on taking people out with one clean shot.

"I know I can hit hard but I've been working on even more power. In the last fight I was concentrating on footwork and movement because the kid wasn't interested, this time I'm hoping to get close enough to let some big shots go."

Eccleshill's Dean Lambert will hope to make it a Bradford hat-trick on the bill. He is up against Welshman Henry Jones.

The show also features a central area super-featherweight eliminator between Haroon Din and Martin Hardcastle as well as future prospects Lee McAllister and debutant Ali Nuumbembe. The action starts at 3pm.
