Soldiers returning to Yorkshire from duty overseas are being given a free night at the cinema, thanks to Ford dealers.
The Northern Ford Dealers group, which represents showrooms across Yorkshire, donated 1,500 free Odeon tickets to soldiers and their families. The recipients include regular soldiers and members of the Territorial Army and reserves. The event tied in with the launch of the Ford Fiesta 'Get Out More' advertising campaign.
The tickets were handed over to Major Peter Robinson at the Army Welfare Services in York by Northern Ford Dealers representative Katie Bibby. Major Robinson will be distributing the tickets to servicemen and women in Yorkshire.
"For the soldiers who have been deployed overseas and away from their families, this is a very generous gesture by Northern Ford Dealers, and provides a nice welcome home," said the Major.
"Going to the cinema is still a popular leisure experience, and what better way to relax than being with your family and watching a good movie with a bucket of popcorn."
