Scott Naylor is delighted to be a hero. The Bulls centre capped the 250th appearance of his career with the match-winning try as Bradford completed their comeback on a tough afternoon in Warrington on Sunday.

Naylor touched down for a last-minute score as the Bulls sneaked a 24-20 victory in their final visit to Wilderspool.

"Normally it is people like Robbie Paul or Lesley (Vainikolo) or Deacs (Paul Deacon) who are the heroes of the games so it is nice for someone else to score the winning try," said Naylor, whose 102nd career try came just before the hooter to seal the victory after the Bulls had been trailing by six points with just four minutes to go.

"I'm not normally the one to do it and it is a nice feeling - it is nice to please the crowd."

Naylor admitted the score was one of the strangest he had bagged in his career, coming courtesy of Dean Gaskell's attempt to prevent a Paul Deacon 40/20 in the game's dying minutes.

"It was a bit of a strange one," admitted Naylor, who had earlier charged down a Graham Appo drop goal.

"I just chased down the ball, I didn't really know what was going to happen I just wanted to make sure I was there.

"It was a great kick by Deacs and I was sure it was going to go out for a 40/20 and then the next thing you know the ball has been kept on and I just have to run through and put it down.

"I didn't have to do a lot to score but it was a long run to get there and well worth the effort.

"I feel sorry for their lad, he did well to keep it in but looking back should probably have let it go.

"It was a bit of a scrap but we got the result, it is nice to have a bit of a luck here for a change."

Naylor admitted the Bulls made it hard for themselves again with some handling errors, as they had against Hull last week, and said the weather hadn't helped.

He added that is was "up there as one of the hottest days I have played on".

Although it wasn't the most convincing of victories, the two points will hold the Bulls in good stead as they face the toughest of home challenges in coming weeks.

Wigan pay a visit to Odsal this Saturday with St Helens due the following Friday.

Coach Brian Noble will be sweating on the fitness of winger Lesley Vainikolo, who missed Sunday's game with a knee problem, while hooker Jimmy Lowes is expected to return after a rest.
