Mother-of-the-bride Barbara Mitchell will have two hats to wear at her daughter's wedding next month.
As well as being the proud mum at the civil ceremony - she'll also be the officiating registrar.
Barbara, who's the superintendent registrar at Bradford Register Office in Manor Row, said she was overjoyed when her only daughter Ruth (they're pictured together) asked her to do the honours.
The big day is at Oakwood Hall in Bingley on July 26, when teacher Ruth marries her fiance research analyst Paul Dunn-Birch.
Barbara, of Park Avenue, Bingley, said: "I love my work - especially doing marriages. I find them all moving but of course this one will be extra special.
"I'm a very emotional person and can get quite choked up at other people's ceremonies, so I'm hoping I'll be able to take half-a-step back and drop in to professional mode for the ceremony and keep a dry eye at this one.
"They told me as soon as they got engaged that they wanted me to officiate for them. It's not an unusual thing for a registrar to do for their children - it just doesn't happen that often!"
The rest of the family will also be in on the marriage act - Ruth's dad Allan will be giving her away, while her brother and Paul's uncle and father will do some readings.
When the happy couple sign the register, Ruth has chosen Gilbert & Sullivan's Madrigal from The Mikado to be played - both she and her mum are keen members of Bingley's Gilbert & Sullivan Society.
Ruth said: "When we decided to have a civil wedding we knew mum was the only woman for the job."
