Colton and Skipton are level on points at the top of Division C of the Airedale and Wharfedale League.

Skipton had two century makers as they knocked off the Woodhouse score of 252 for nine of which S Pickles had made 92 and S Dobson (52).

For Skipton opener Steve Carling made an unbeaten 113 and gained excellent support from their Australian Robert Dilger who made 116. Skipton gained victory with six wickets in hand and seven overs to spare.

Colton on the other hand gained four points from a drawn game with Bolton Villas after making a fine 244 for eight.

The main contribution came from David Wright who hit 83.

Villas replied with 186 for eight as they struggled against the bowling of Martin Stalgis who took four for 43 off ten overs.

Pool Mills turned in a solid all-round performance but fell just short of a first victory against Illingworth.

The damage was done in the first 20 overs, when the visitors took full advantage of some loose bowling to get off to a flying start.

The Wilkinson brothers, Mark and Paul, then applied the brakes with accurate spells, Paul being the more successful returning 4-30. A total of 210 for eight represented a good recovery by the Mills bowlers and fielders.

Bram Goodwin produced another classy innings, making 65 and, with Tony Smith (31) took the score to 116 for one, at which point Mills were clear favourites.

Paul Wilkinson (27) and Chris Murphy with 21 continued the good work, but as wickets began to fall with some regularity, the required run rate increased.

Mills finally closed on 204 for eight, the two points representing a disappointing reward for some encouraging cricket.

Addingham were another side to take four points after posting a score of 162 for eight against an improved Ben Rhydding.

Opener Benn Gordon held the innings together with a knock of 57 and gained support from skipper Sean Atkinson (37) and Simon Farrand (25 no).

The best of the Rhydding bowlers was A Winterbottom with three for 56.

Ben Rhydding struggled throughout and none of their batsmen was able to build an innings as Farrand bowled well to return five for 54 off 20 overs. Their innings closed at 131 for eight.

Horsforth gave a good all-round performance to take the points when Alwoodley were their visitors.

Batting first Alwoodley struggled to an all out 155 as Bruce Rainford took three for 18 and R Graves (3-43).

Horsforth soon lost opener Ben Clarke but D Mane steered them to victory with an excellent 57 before being run out.

S Collings (22no) and Australian Michael Goss (28) then completed the job.
