Former Bradford City favourite Lee Sinnott has been unveiled as the new Farsley Celtic manager with effect from today.

Sinnott made 266 appearances for the Bantams in his two spells at Valley Parade and has also appeared twice in Wembley finals.

He was in the Watford side defeated by Everton in the 1984 FA Cup final and eleven years later captained Huddersfield Town in the final of the Nationwide Second Division play-off final.

Sinnott said: "The Celts are a friendly, go-ahead club and I'm relishing the chance of helping them climb up the non-league pyramid. Off the field everything is set up at Throstle Nest to move forward and I'll be looking to mirror that on the pitch."

The 37-year-old midlander, who played in defence and midfield during his long career in the professional game, started out with his home town club at Walsall in 1981 and also had spells at Crystal Palace and Oldham Athletic.

Following almost 650 games in the pro ranks, Sinnott, who settled in Guiseley with his family, moved into coaching with the Bradford City School of Excellence and spent last season with the Academy set up at Leeds United. Celtic chairman Andy Firbank is delighted that he has now pledged his future to Farsley Celtic. "We are really pleased, we think it is a fantastic appointment and he should be able to take us forward," said Firbank. "I think it is quite a coup for us to get someone of his background and experience.

"But I also think that the club has a lot to offer someone like Lee who is keen to get into management.

"The list of applicants was very strong and many of them were impressed with the facilities here when we showed them round during the interview stage."
