A former commander of Keighley Sea Cadets has won a coveted award.
Lieutenant (SCC) Royal Naval Reserve Margaret Jones has received the Herbert Lott Naval Trust Prize.
Lt Jones, pictured, was presented with the award in recognition of her service to the cadet movement.
She has been associated with the organisation for 12 years.
She transferred from the Huddersfield unit to take command at Keighley in 1996.
Two years ago she was appointed Area Staff Officer (Logistics and Support Management), with responsibility for many regional events. And last year she stepped in at her old Huddersfield corps when it experienced major staffing problems.
She continued with her Keighley role until three weeks ago.
The citation pays tribute to her dedication and enthusiasm, and the notable successes she has achieved. Lt Jones said: "I am absolutely over the moon to receive the award. I had gone along to a prize night at the Huddersfield unit when this was sprung on me.
"There are a lot of people who put considerable time into the organisation, and I was overwhelmed to get this."
