A former Keighley woman has visited the town to reunite five generations of her family.

It is the first time in nine years that Samantha Martin has come back to the town since she moved to Cornwall 13 years ago.

She has returned with her daughters Donna Martin, 19, and Laurna Moules, 13, to show them where she grew up and to see their grandmother Lorraine Brown and great-grandmother Hilda Moorehouse.

Donna has also brought her five week old daughter Kayla Jane Bentley up for the visit.

Mrs Martin grew up at Bracken Bank and has fond memories of her time at Bronte School.

She says: "This is a really special trip for us all. We haven't been up here for nine years because the time has just flown by, but we are all really excited to be here.

"The town has changed so much. It's the place I remember but things are slightly different. It really takes me back but I can't believe it's changed so much in nine years.

"I can't wait to go and have a look at the market - my mum used to work there.

"The Keighley News building has changed too, and I'll go and have a look at the new bus station.

"I love living in Cornwall and my family are all really happy there, but its great to be back - I'm just buzzing really. It's lovely to be here and see that some things haven't changed - I remember the Cavendish pub and Victoria Hotel just as they are."

Mrs Martin says she has lost contact with her old friends in Keighley, but if anyone remembers her and would like to get in touch they can contact her on 07748405600 or 01326 312 455.
