Families who took their dads to Sutton Fun Day on Sunday were rewarded with fantastic weather and a lot of fun.

As usual the event was well supported, with a colourful processionweaving its way around the village.

A host of Thomas the Tank Engines, recreated by Tommy Tots playgroup, chuffed their way along the Main Street, accompanied by a number of walking groups and fancy dress entries.

Sutton Fun Day Queen Katy Lloyd presided over the event, accompanied by her retinue.

In the park there were various fairground rides and the usual stalls and attractions.

Sutton village committee chairman Stuart Robinson said: "We were blessed by the weather, it was an absolutely marvellous turn-out and I want to say thankyou to everyone who helped on the day and to organise the event.

"Their help was very much appreciated."

The Fun Day raised around £1,800, which will go towards next year's event and also support local projects such as putting flowers in the park and the conservation group's plan to install a seating area at Lund's Tower.
