Oxenhope woman Linda May Campbell received an OBE.
Linda is the chief executive of the UK Accreditation Service based in London.
The UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) is an independent body recognised by government to assess organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration.
Miss Campbell said: "The award is great news for UKAS. It is recognition of the important role we play in assuring trust in markets and confidence in services in the UK.
"People tend not to give too much thought into how much effort is needed to ensure free markets work, they just assume they do."
Miss Campbell joined UKAS as chief executive six years ago. Prior to joining she worked for BSI as director of product conformity and testing, and also held the post of corporate marketing director.
Her career in quality started with Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance in 1985.
She is stepping down as chief executive at the end of June.
