A business studies teacher hit the right notes to land a national karaoke title.
Jon Zeb, a teacher at Holy Family RC School, Keighley, won £500 and a trophy at the national finals of Rolling Rock Pop Stars Karaoke Challenge, at Nottingham, earlier this month.
Jon, who qualified for the event after winning the north of England regional finals in Headingley, said he was amazed by his success.
Jon said: "It was absolutely fantastic. I really only entered for a laugh and did not expect to get so far. I was in shock when they announced my name."
On the evening the eight contestants, who included representatives from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, were treated to a champagne reception and a dinner.
Each competitor had to sing two numbers before the judges made their verdict.
Jon, pictured right, who was supported by family, friends and fellow teachers from the school, performed songs from each of his idols -- Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley -- Mac the Knife and American Trilogy respectively.
He said his singing background was founded on singing in the shower and school choirs. He gets in plenty of karaoke practice at The Round Thorn pub, in Bradford.
Jon added: "I don't take my singing too seriously. It is fun, a laugh and an excuse for a knees up."
