Cleckheaton Youth Forum is one of a number of groups due to receive an award.

Several young people's organisations in Kirklees will be presented with an award on Tuesday by the Mayor of Kirklees, Coun-cillor Barbara Allonby.

The awards are certificates recognising work the groups did outside school and within their own communities.

The three types of award are youth development; organising and running projects and youth action, leadership and representation.

Other groups to receive awards are: The Reachout project, a support programme for young people aged 15 to 16 who need support outside school; The Bartonion Sunday Luncheon Club, which helps to prepare and serve Sunday lunch to a group of older residents; Conn-exions Youth Forum; a group at Batley Boys' School taking part in an alternative curriculum based at Young Batley; the 'building a computer' group; a drama group; Creative Voices from New-some and Girl Guides from a group in the Dart-mouth division who have been leaders for groups of younger children.

Youthtrain certificates will be presented to James Greaves, of Whitcliffe Mount School in Cleck-heaton for a drug awareness project and Duane Holland for planning a Christmas surprise for older people.
