Warrington Wolves 40, Cougar Academy 11 - What a difference a week makes. Last week the Cougar boys took charge from the kick-off and claimed their first Super League scalp, this week it was the Wolves who boasted into the Cougars from the opening whistle.
The Academy were pinned in their own quarter and hardly helped themselves by turning over the ball three times in t heir first four sets.
Warrington made them pay by scoring twice from Cougar mistakes.
The Wolves were targeting the Academy left hand side, scoring another two tries down the wing.
On the stroke of half time they added another try to take a 24-1 lead into the break.
The second half was more like the Academy can play, taking the game finally to the Wolves. Tries by Michael Hastings and Jason Battle were reward for enterprising play.
Warrington's final try, however, was typical of the day when, a nothing kick was allowed to bounce and a warrington player nipped in to score. This weekend the team is away at Featherstone Rovers on Sunday, kick-off 12.45.
