THE atmosphere at the club just gets better and better, it's amazing what success brings with it.
Training has a feelgood factor, the banter between the lads is non-stop with the likes of Ashy continuing to take the mickey out of anyone who fails to think before they speak (and we have more than our fair share of those).
Another spin off of a succesful run is the lack of injured players in the treatment room. I know (through experience) that when things are not going so well the treatment room is full on training nights.
I told our physio, Jamie Bell, that he would not be rushed off his feet if we were doing well, because everybody wants to play, and sure enough I was right.
Of course there are one or two regulars, Rammy has his own treatment table (he's earned it) and Matt Foster likes to keep him company (talk about Siamese twins!).
TALKING about Rammy, I thought he showed just what a top pro he was last Sunday. He had a fitness test prior to the game as he was still feeling his bruised ribs from our previous game. Although not 100 per cent he declared himself able to play and his influence on the game was tremendous.
After watching him sell a couple of outrageous dummies to score a great try, I'm convinced he could sell flower arranging lessons to Olly Wilkes.
Young players such as Matty Firth, Simeon Hoyle and Adam Mitchell are all gaining from his guidance and consequently having an outstanding season.
Jason has warn the Cougar No9 shirt with distinction for many years, Simeon has taken over that role and has received nothing but support from Jason which highlights his professionalism and willingness to adapt for the sake of the team -- a real lesson for our young players -- well done Rammy.
MOSSY'S disappointed, he'd heard the Clarets were about to launch a late bid to take Becks to Turf Moor. One of the lads said there was more chance of the Beckhams buying Burnley than the other way round.
Pity that, we could have invited them to Cougar Park and after one of Colin Farrar's roast beef dinners they might have dipped into their loose change to help take Super League by storm.
Hang on the alarm's ringing - ah well we all dream!
