Formula One Stock Car driver Frankie Wainman Jnr (515) successfully defended his Scottish Championship title last weekend as he powered his Teng Tools Chevrolet to victory in the heat during a Grand Final double at the Cowdenbeath raceway, Fife, Scotland.

The F1 ace, from Silsden, fought off tough competition from all the other top drivers, including World Champion John Lund, and former double British Drivers Champion Paul Harrison, to the delight of the large Scottish crowd.

Frankie a master on car set up, drove an excellent controlled race, which resulted in him recording the fastest lap for an F1 around the tight Scottish oval, even the pressure from runner-up Castell didn't cause Wainman to falter.

On defending his title for the second time Wainman said: "The car was perfect, we had made a few alterations during practise which proved to be the right move."

Sunday saw the racing move to the Knockhill race circuit, where Frankie finished first in the heat and second in the final.

Frankie Snr (212) managed to gain valuable World Championship qualifying points in readiness for the semi-finals in August.
