CRAVEN equestrian enthusiasts will have two very full days of sport to enjoy this weekend when the annual Skipton Horse Trials are staged at Funkirk Farm, Carleton tomorow and Sunday.
Dressage, show-jumping and cross-country disciplines make up the programme, with pride of place on the busy entry list going to former Olympic gold medal winner Karen Dixon from Hexham, who will be trialling a couple of young horses at the event.
One notable addition to the operation this year is the provision of a set of fresh Mark Phillips designed fences which have been provided by Armathwaite Hall Hotel, Bassenthwaite.
Entries for the WCF Country Centres sponsored event have exceeded last year, with the programme due to start each day with the dressage section at 8am.
