Four hundred Bradford youngsters helped to clear an area of land known in Holme Wood as "the valley". The valley next to Sterling Crescent in the centre of Holme Wood Estate, has been used as a tip. Mr. Dick Shepherd, the youth and community officer in the district, and local vicar the Rev Alan Kitchen, contacted schools, youth centres, and the careers service to clear the eyesore.
