A 14-year-old boy has gone on trial accused of eight rapes.
Bradford Crown Court heard how he allegedly carried out the sex attacks on two girls between September 1999 and June last year.
Prosecutor Richard New-bury said the boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, threatened to beat up one of them and harm himself to "secure her silence''.
It is also claimed that he told the other girl he would either jump out of a window or stab himself if she told anyone.
After the allegations came to light last summer, the teenager was arrested. In his interview, he told police he did not have any sexual contact with the girls.
The jury heard how concerns were then raised about an alleged indecent assault on another girl. When police spoke to him again, he denied that had happened.
The Bradford teenager has pleaded not guilty to eight charges of rape and three of indecent assault. He also denies one charge of attempted rape and an alternative charge of indecent assault.
One girl, who is alleged to have been raped seven times, is said to have described to the police in her video evidence how she tried to push him away, but he was too strong for her.
The trial continues.
