Great Britain prop Stuart Fielden (pictured) is back to spearhead the Bulls' assault on the Super League title.

Fielden's return was the icing on the cake as far as Bulls coach Brian Noble was concerned following Friday night's dramatic victory over old foes Leeds Rhinos.

The Bulls powered back to the top of Super League at Headingley after a backs-to-the-wall 18-16 win which opened up a two-point cushion over their chief title rivals.

But it was the shock inclusion of Fielden on the bench after being sidelined for more than half the season with a knee injury which first got pulses racing.

And after coming through his 40-minute run-out unscathed, Noble reflected: "It's good to have him back.

"I had a phone call from Stuart on Tuesday afternoon and he hadn't practiced much.

"But he said 'Yes, I'm ready to go and I want to go', which is the main thing with players and I thought he did a big job for 40 minutes."

Fielden said: "The knee and ankle felt fine but after a few games, and a bit more rehab, then I can start relaxing and get back to enjoying my rugby.

"It's been very frustrating but there are a lot of people out there who've had a lot worse. Paul Anderson has had 31 operations during his career, so I didn't feel sorry for myself and just stayed focused on getting fit and back playing rugby."

Jamie Peacock said of Fielden's return: "Stu was massive for us and we're glad to have him back because he's a world class player. The sooner we can get Mick Withers, Robbie Paul and Pratty (Karl Pratt) back, then even better."
