Andy Gray is happy to be put on the spot again tonight if City win a penalty.

Gray (pictured) will keep the spot-kick duties for the Carling Cup tie with Darlington despite Saturday's miss against Norwich.

It was his first miss in five attempts for City - and the club's first penalty failure since botching two at Everton on the day they were relegated from the Premiership in April 2001.

Gray's shot against the inside of the post, which ended a scoring run of 12 in a row for the Bantams, has not put off the Scottish international.

Gray, who finds out on Thursday if he is in the Scotland squad for next week's friendly in Norway, said: "I thought it was in when I hit it but then when the ball came back to me I knew I couldn't touch it.

"I got four before so it's not affected my confidence but I was just pleased we still managed to get back in the game."

Boss Nicky Law said: "I don't think it will deter him too much.

"Andy deserves another chance for all the crucial ones he got last year. If not, maybe someone else will be trying to get the ball off him."

Dean Windass, who would willingly take over, is likely to be

the only survivor in the City side from the 7-2 romp over the Third Division outfit three years ago. But he knows all about cup success after his time at Sheffield United last season.

Gray said: "Deano has been saying how important it can be. Once you get through the early rounds you never know who you'll get and how far you can go.

"Bradford are due a cup run and it's always nice for the fans.

"We gave them something to cheer about on Saturday and it was like Burnley last year when we came back at the end. We could have won it with a bit longer to play but hopefully now we can get into that winning habit."
