Ned Taylor thrust Menston back into the title race as leaders Bilton saw their lead cut to five points in Division A.

After a mid-season slump in form that looked to have ended their championship bid, Menston have responded with four wins and two winning draws in their last six outings. Bilton, in contrast, have now lost two in a row after Beckwithsaw ran out winners by four wickets last weekend.

Taylor gave Menston a fine start at home to relegation-threatened Steeton with a quick-fire 115 that included 15 fours and four sixes.

The title challengers eventually finished on 281 for five, a total that was out of Steeton's reach despite an impressive 70 from skipper Alex Howarth.

Steeton's late order did hold on to claim two points from a losing draw but they look destined for the drop as they are now 12 points adrift of safety with five games remaining.

Intriguingly, Bilton and Menston meet on the final weekend of the season in what is shaping up to be a championship decider.

Guiseley lifted the Waddilove Cup for the third time in as many years on Sunday thanks to Mark Best's man of the match display as Bilton were beaten by five runs. Best claimed four for 27 to prevent Bilton passing Guiseley's total of 207 for five in an enthralling contest.

Guiseley's success came despite suffering a demoralising defeat in the league just 24 hours earlier with Otley triumphing by seven wickets thanks to Scott Johnson taking a season's best eight for 40.

The fight to avoid relegation in Division B is fast turning into a thrilling affair with the bottom four sides being separated by just four points.

Harden's nail-biting victory over Silsden could prove crucial as it meant the latter dropped from fourth bottom to the foot of the table.

Silsden looked to be on course for a comfortable victory with Harden struggling on 153 for nine in reply to the visitors' 219 for four.

However, Andy Bailey cracked an unbeaten 46 and James Roper 23 not out to guide Harden to a victory that leaves them level on 31 points with Bardsey.

Thackley are second bottom with 30 points after Karl Busfield's 74 not out sealed a ten-wicket triumph at Tong Park.

Burley's promotion bid in Division B suffered a major setback with a 66-run defeat at Ilkley with 15-year-old Andrew Rhodes claiming five for 38 for the victors.

Burley remain third but are now 15 points behind Rawdon who claimed a winning draw at home to Pool. Kirkstall's demolition of Calverley means they remain top on 81 points.

In Division C, Illingworth have emerged from the chasing pack to become Skipton and Colton's main rivals in the promotion race. Barry Hawksworth hit 73 for Bolton Villas but his efforts were in vain as Illingworth triumphed by seven wickets.

Colton are second, three points ahead of Illingworth, while Skipton continue to impress at the top.

Rob Dilger claimed five for 17 as Skipton coasted to a ten wicket triumph over Upper Wharfedale.
