HUNDREDS of people took part in a Sports Mela held at Marley last weekend.
The event had been organised by Keighley Kabadi Academy and attracted people from throughout the country, with organisation teams from London travelling north to join the sporting party.
"It was one of our most successful events ever with people from throughout the north of Engalnd, the Midlands and London taking part. It was not just a Keighley event, but more of a national Mela," said Mr Ishafaq of the Kabadi Academy.
There was a range of Asian sports played side by side with soccer other Western sports.
"It proved that Keighley is a safe place with friendly people. We hope to have more events like this to help the various ethnic groups understand each other. We hope to make the event bigger and even better next year," Mr Ishafaq said.
