Silsden slipped to a 2-0 defeat in the West Riding Charity Shield on Friday.
The traditional curtain-raiser to the soccer season was played at Cougar Park, but the Challenge Cup holders began very slowly against Albion Sports, holders of the West Riding FA Sunday Cup.
The Bradford side scored after four minutes and Silsden struggled to get back into the game in a tough first half.
Albion Sports scored a second after the break, and although Silsden got into their stride they could not find the vital finishing touch.
