DIVER Matthew Cowan produced a top performance at the European Junior Championships , but just missed out on a medal.
Matthew, of Cross Roads, is a member of the Bradford Esprit diving club and earned his place at the European Championships after a string of top performances at the British Age Group championships earlier in the year.
He continued to produce an impressive standard, coming fourth in the high board event and was just four points of bronze medal place.
He finished sixth in the 1m board event and was seventh off the 3m board. The competition attracted divers from through Europe, including the former Eastern European countries including Russia, the Ukraine, Bulgaria and Armenia.
His clubmate Ellitott Collett, 12, from East Morton, had earlier maintained the success of local divers with two first places and a second in the Intermediate Diving Competition at Crystal Palace.
The Bingley Grammar School pupil won gold on the 5m and 1m boards and took silver on the 3m.
