A homeless man has been banned from Bradford city centre under an interim anti-social behaviour order.
The order was issued to 34-year-old Patrick Dooley after an application was made by Bradford Council.
In the hearing at Bingley Magistrates Court yesterday it was decided that the interim order should be placed until December 31. The full hearing is due to take place on November 20 and 21.
As well as listing the areas Dooley may not enter, including Bradford city centre, the order says he is not allowed to be in possession of any alcoholic or intoxicating substances in any public place within the Bradford Council district.
Dooley must not associate with Vanessa Horner in any public place within the Bradford Council district and is not to contact, directly or indirectly, any witnesses involved in the case.
He is only allowed to enter the areas listed if he has a pre-arranged appointment with a solicitor, doctor, probation officer, department of social security or other statutory body. Nicola Phillipson, for the Council, said Dooley was alleged to have behaved in an anti-social manner between March 21 and June 16.
Although Dooley is homeless, he lives around the city centre. Phillip Ainge, for Dooley, said: "If you ban him from the city centre you are in effect banning him from his home."
