Danny Forrest is ready to send out a "remember me plea" to City boss Nicky Law.
Forrest wants to kick-start his season tomorrow night for the reserves after shaking off a stomach strain.
The 18-year-old striker, regarded as City's own Wayne Rooney by fans, has been struggling with the problem since the pre-season tour of Scotland.
It has been a frustrating time for Forrest who has been stuck on the sidelines while fellow starlet Simon Francis has continued to make big strides in the senior side.
But having eased his way back with 90 minutes for the youth team, the England under-19 international is itching to push his claims for another First Division chance. City's reserves kick off at home to Stoke tomorrow night and Forrest is hoping to get the nod to play.
He said: "We haven't been given details of the squad yet but I can only hope that I'm included because I'm ready for games. I was very pleased to get through the whole youth-team match on Saturday. I felt fit throughout and had no problems at all."
Forrest scored three goals from ten starts last term but was restricted to only 45 minutes of pre-season action when he played the second half against Partick.
With Law bringing in Dean Windass, Michael Branch and Luke Cornwall this summer, he has slipped down the pecking order.
