Lee Gilmour looks set to leave Bradford but the Bulls have flatly denied reports that Mike Forshaw is to follow suit.

Forshaw has been linked with a move to Warrington Wolves but a club spokesman said: "Mike has absolutely no idea where this story came from and there is no truth in it whatsoever."

The veteran loose forward will be looking to agree a new deal when his current contract runs out at the end of the season, although Gilmour looks likely to depart for St Helens at the end of the campaign.

Although no official move has been confirmed by either the Bulls or Saints, the 25-year-old former Wigan back row looks almost certain to be heading for Knowsley Road.

And coach Brian Noble has admitted disappointment at the expected departure of a player who proved hugely instrumental in hauling the Bulls back into Saturday's win against Hull with two tries.

He said: "We offered him a contract and if he leaves I will be disappointed. I don't know if the St Helens move is common knowledge - it's certainly not been confirmed by Saints - but it looks like he's going to be leaving at the end of the year.

"I would have been keen to keep him. He played well on Saturday and has been due a good game - by his own standards he hasn't been where he should be.

"His last four of five games have been pretty disappointing but we asked him to hit some holes in the second half against Hull and he did just that and showed what an exciting player he can be."

Saturday's hat-trick hero Lesley Vainikolo was hugely disappointed at the news of Gilmour's impending departure.

He said: "It's a full blow for us - Gilly is a great utility player and I can't be believe he's going. Saints are another big club and like Bradford they are one of the top five clubs in Super League, so it will be a good move for him."

Stuart Reardon also acknowledged that the exit of Gilmour would serve as a considerable loss to the Bull squad.

He said: "He's a special player and it would definitely be a loss to us if he left."
