City must prise open the goalless draw specialists to keep up their fast start to the league campaign tomorrow.
Nicky Law's troops aim to back up the highly-impressive win at Cardiff by claiming their first home win.
Visitors Gillingham have clocked up two 0-0 draws so far and will be a tough nut to crack. But chairman Gordon Gibb hopes City can repeat the form they showed in Wales to continue their unbeaten start.
He said: "Only a small minority of our supporters witnessed the events in Cardiff so we have to capitalise on that now. This is where we need to build on that result.
"No doubt it will drag a few more in and we have to give our home support a decent level of entertainment."
Gillingham frustrated Sheffield United in a first-day stalemate at Bramall Lane and also drew goalless with Derby last week.
Gibb said: "Gillingham will be perfectly happy with the scoreline as it is at the moment. If it is still the same come 4.50pm tomorrow I'm sure they will be highly delighted.
"They are a difficult side to break down as Sheffield United will testify. We don't tend to perform particularly well against teams that sit back and this will be a reflection of how far we have come forward."
Nicky Law is looking to bring in another striker to replace Ashley Ward. But with Luke Cornwall and Rob Wolleaston waiting in the wings, City are in no rush.
Gibb said: "Names have been bandied about and Nicky is always up and down the M1 and M62 looking for new talent.
"Nothing has yet been discussed at boardroom level although he has got eyes everywhere."
City's league goals have been shared by four different players so far although Dean Windass is waiting to get off the mark.
Gibb added: "The problem last year was that we didn't have enough goalscorers in the top 15 of the division. All the successful teams seemed to have two or three in that list.
"It's encouraging that we are already seeing goals being scored from different areas."
