Doctors and nurses from Airedale Hospital are donning wigs and stepping out to support a colleague with breast cancer.
Keighley woman Sharon Boulton, 34, who works on the labour ward at the hospital, was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and has undergone chemotherapy to halt the disease.
She said: "Because I am relatively young to have the disease, it was a real shock. I couldn't believe it, but you have to get on with it and I have been having a lot of chemotherapy to make sure it is controlled.
"Things seem to be manageable now, but obviously I've lost my hair and I don't bother with wigs so I've had a few strange looks around Keighley!
"But some of my colleagues at the hospital wanted to show their support so are doing a sponsored wig walk."
The group of about 20 doctors and nurses will be wearing wigs and walking from Riddlesden to Skipton to raise money for the oncology unit at the hospital.
The sponsored walk will take place on Sunday.
Sharon added: "I will have had another lot of chemo just before, which totally wipes me out, so I can't do the walk unfortunately.
"But my children -- Emma, who's 15, and Charlotte, who's 11 -- will be walking for me. I'm really touched that they're all doing this for me."
If anybody would like to donate money to the cause, they are asked to phone the labour ward at Airedale Hospital for more details.
