A couple went the extra mile to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary -- by getting married again.
Eric and Irene Bishop travelled down the road to their village church to renew their marriage vows.
The couple didn't know about the ceremony until minutes before when a limousine turned up at their Riddlesden home.
They had known their daughters Natalie and Melanie were planning a surprise but suspected it was simply a party.
Many of the Bishops' friends and family were invited to the ceremony at St Mary's Church and the reception in Oakworth.
Eric and Irene, of Banks Lane, say they were shocked but delighted with the unusual way of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Irene said: "We were nervous but it was fabulous. We knew there was something going on but were just told to be ready for one o'clock."
The renewal of vows, in the company of the St Mary's choir, took a similar form to a normal wedding ceremony.
Bradford man Eric met Irene in 1951 when he went to Wakefield to install a fridge in the shop where she worked.
The couple married two years later and lived in Bradford before coming to Riddlesden 42 years ago.
Eric spent 47 years as a refrigerator engineer with the same firm, Southern and Redfern, while Irene brought up their daughters.
Melanie, 36, lives in Stockbridge and Natalie, 34, lives in Oakworth.
