Children can learn how to juggle, walk on stilts and cross the tight rope at a circus skills workshop - one of many events taking place in the Bradford district over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The workshop is being held at historic East Riddlesden Hall, Bradford Road, Keighley from noon to 4pm on Monday.

Children are invited to attend in clown costumes and there will be face painting. The event also includes a show by Curious Eyebrows.

An Hawaiian beach party is being held at the Wrose Bull Hotel, Shipley, from 8pm on Monday. Staff will be dressing in shorts, Hawaiian shirts, bikinis, flower garlands and grass skirts, and there will be hula-hooping, hula dancing and limbo competitions in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care Unit.

Also on Monday, there is a band concert in Lister Park, Bradford, from 2pm to 4.30pm. And children accompanied by a teddy bear can travel free on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

There will be a fun fair in Victoria Park, Keighley, from Saturday to Monday, and Haworth Carnival is taking place at the village cricket club on Sunday and Monday.

Both events feature arts and crafts stalls, a fun fair, majorettes' performances, a brass band and a barbecue. The carnival also includes a float procession on Monday.

On Sunday there is a band concert at The Grove in Ilkley, and the Faceless Theatre Company will be amusing crowds at Bradford's Kirkgate Centre tomorrow.

Also on Sunday, a circular guided walk will start at Keighley railway station. And Thomas the Tank Engine and friends will be steaming along the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.

Railway enthusiasts have a treat in store at Aireville School, Skipton, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday with a model railway show from 10am to 5pm. And there is a Country and Western Festival at Funkirk Estate, Heslaker Farm, near Skipton.

Road restrictions will be lifted to ease traffic over the Bank Holiday period.

The Highways Agency will be keeping as many lanes as possible open on motorways and trunk roads to help keep traffic moving.

The only planned restriction will be on narrow lanes at the Bankfield roundabout, near Cottingley, where work is underway on the Bingley relief road.

The weekend weather looks promising with no sign of showers until Monday when the weather is more unsettled.

Sunday's weather is similar with a temperature of 19-22C (66-72F).
