The annual DM charity golf competition was played at Bingley St Ives Golf Club on Friday, when a field of 116 players enjoyed a wonderful day both on the course and afterwards in the clubhouse, raising a total of almost £4,000 for Manorlands.
Winners were the Silsden Driving Range team of D Appleyard, R Bolton, P Greenwood and K Jowitt. Second were BSI Captain & President team of A Dixon, M Peel, G Bennett and E Peel, and third the Allied Irish Team of H Kelly, S Lewis, A Hood and S Jackson.
Thanks were expressed to all who played and helped to make the day a great success, and to Bingley St Ives for use of the course. Advanced Couplings Ltd, who helped to organise the event, will be writing to all major companies and individuals who gave their support to express their thanks. Special thanks to Brian Mechen and all the committee for their sterling work again this year.

The Junior Open on Friday attracted plenty of support and was judged a great success. Around 20 young golfers took part, and good support from sponsors meant there were plenty of prizes to play for. Next year's event should be even bigger and better. Results: 1 George Long, 2 Chris Spencer, 3 James Bellamy, 4 Joe Harper, best gross Liam O'Neill.
Keighley - The Ladies played for Mrs Churchman's Prize on Tuesday. The format was a stableford competition off 7/8 handicap. 0-18 Division: Adele Mitchell40pts; 19-27 Division: Pat Hesketh 32pts; 28-45 Division: Sheila Sunderland 35pts. The season continues to be excellent for 6-handicapper Adele Mitchell, who has won all her matches playing for the County VetsTeam.
The Men's Past Captains and Presidents competition was won by Terry Bowler with 39 points. He beat Billy Lowe, also 39 points, into second place with an eagle three on the final hole.
