Haworth West End could not repeat their giant-killing act of the previous week when they ran into league leaders Embsay.

The top club reached 189-9 with skipper Duncan Ward top scoring on 57 and David Robinson adding 51. Jason Bilbrough was the most successful bowler with 3-58 off 18 overs.

The Bronte side's reply got off to a disastrous start with half the team falling cheaply. Adam Bailey and Andy Benfield staged a brief recovery but they perished for 23 and 27 respectively. From there the innings folded to 72 all out. John Metcalfe bowled superbly to finish with 7-21 off 15 overs.

Second placed Oakworth were at Bradley and it was another close run thing. The home side batted first and were dismissed for 76 with Ian Price scoring 45. At one point they were 14-5 before Price put on 40 for the sixth wicket. He was next to last out as Michael Scarborough finished with 4-9 off nine overs and Dale Hoyle 3-8 from seven overs. The Cure Hill side lost a couple of early wickets then reached 54 before four more wickets fell for the addition of 19 runs to set up a nervy finish. They eventually reached their target in the 22nd over.

Third placed Barrowford edge a win in a high scoring game at Cowling. The South Craveners made 206-5 with Keith Woodhead making a splendid 94, Steve Richardson 37 and Steve Mitchell 34. The Red Rose side looked to be in trouble before David Flounders took them to the points with 50no. Earlier Neil Hargreaves had scored 45. Richardson finished with 3-52.

There was a thriller at Cullingworth where visitors Thornton lost two wickets in the last over to go down by just three runs. The home side made 175, of which Steve Welch contributed 41 as Mark Laycock claimed 5-31. In the Booth Bridge Laners' innings, Mark Beech top scored with 33 as Dave Robinson took 4-42 including those two in the last over.

Haworth spiked visitors Denholme's efforts to aid their relegation campaign. The latter posted 167 with Gareth Marshall hitting 71 and Rob Taylor 33 as Damian Rowell took 5-56 and Richard Godden 4-41. The Bronte side cantered to victory by five wickets with Rowell making 45no and his brother Jamie 32. Adrian Ratcliffe also made 31 as Marshall finished with 4-62.

Bottom side Skipton CI kept their hopes of staying up alive as they beat Long Lee by two wickets at Sandylands. The ten man Keighley side had Richard Ayrton with 57 and Stephen Doane 31 to thank for their 145-7. CI started well with 67 for the first wicket. Things were looking good at 106-1 but then Paul Swindlehurst took five wickets to go with two for Mick Isles and at 139-8 it was definitely game on. Experienced John Drake knocked off the required runs to grab the points.

Division Two leaders Sutton had a profitable trip to Fence, winning by eight wickets. Pendle Forest made a modest 117 with Mark Holdsworth scoring 33no as Ben Bolland finished with 4-39 and Justin Holdsworth 4-46. Paul Williams 47no and Paul Hardaker 40 saw the South Craveners to victory.

Second placed Cononley crashed to a five wicket defeat at home to Jimmy Nelson's. They scored 149 batting first with Steve Filkin top scoring on 38 as Dave Greenwood took 6-54 in 17 overs. Shaun Grimshaw 56no and Andy Makin 32 took the Red Rose side to victory.

Foulridge move above Cononley after a comfortable 82 run win at Carleton. The visitors scored 165, with Chris Brooker-Carey making 47 and Chris Preston 46 as Gareth Wooler took 4-31. Ryan Duerden with 6-38 ensured that the Ramper Park outfit didn't get anywhere near their target.

Airedale are level with Cononley after a stunning nine-wicket victory over Gargrave at Bradford Road. Giles Wilmore 5-24 and Alan Hayes 4-31 had the visitors back in the hut for 75 -- after they had won the toss for the first time this season. Evergreen Phil Loftus with yet another not out, 49, saw the side to the spoils.

Ingrow's Mohammed Hanif scored a superb 110 as his side amassed a mammoth 252-7 at home to Chatburn. The T Khan took 4-24 as the Ribblesdale side crumpled to 136 in reply.

Glusburn made a hash of things at home to Ingrow St John's. The Saints rattled up 217-7 with skipper Colin Bottomley (65) and Anthony Haigh (32no). Only the home skipper offered much resistance with 56 as they crumpled to 181 all out. Wasim took 4-59 and Haigh 3-56.

The race for the Division Three title took yet another twist. Leaders Barrowford crashed by six wickets at home to Cowling. The Red Rose side were restricted to 153 with Nick Burton making 64. The visitor's skipper Mark Batty 69 and old warhorse Steve Dalby 44 set up the victory.

Oakworth returned to the head of the pack, a point in front of Barrowford and Embsay. The Cure Hill side rattled up a massive 280-9 at home to Airedale. Andy Dawson made 65no, Chris White 61 and Adam Fradley 58. Airedale were dismissed for 156 in reply despite No10 batsman S Aslam making 34no as Jeff Inman took 5-47.

Embsay's victory over Pendle Forest was interesting because they had a side of five geriatrics, four under fifteens plus two others. The Fence side made 117 with Rob Buchannon scoring 36no in 42 overs. Richard Ellis, batting at No 10 walloped 30 for the cause, as Ian Robson finished with 4-59 and son Marc 3-24. In reply Brian Hodgson warmed up for the Cowling Cup final with a solid knock of 73no, and victory was achieved by eight wickets.

Thornton remain in fourth spot despite losing at home to Cullingworth by six wickets. The Booth Bridge Lane side scored 160 with skipper John Roughton leading the way on 62no. Steve Freemantle claimed 5-10 in four overs. T Dimuantes 46no and Karl Bennett 60 led the visitors to an impressive victory.

M Hussain 5-36 and Z Ali 4-7 set up a seven-wicket win for Ingrow St John's at home to Haworth.

Skipton CI travelled to Keighley and beat Long Lee by five wickets, with Steve Davidson 55no and J Walker 7-37 being their stars.

Division Four leaders Bradley were in good form at Gargrave. R Stow with 6-41 saw the homesters back in the hut for 76, a target the leaders passed for the loss of three wickets.

Glusburn warmed up for the Cowling Cup final with a stunning victory in a high scoring game at Denholme. The homeside posted a fine 211-6 with Paul Briggs scoring 86 and Richard Taylor 56. The South Craveners romped to a five-wicket win with Mark Johnston top scoring on 68 aided by Tanveer Akbar 36 and perennial George Garland 47no.

Chatburn were too strong for visitors Ingrow, winning by 107 runs. The Ribblesdale side scored 199-7 with Dave Lakin making 41 and Ahmed Zulfi 38. Zulfi 5-59 and Geoff Lambert 4-30 knocked over the Keighley side for 92.

Keighley TC's Warren Coppack crashed 22 fours and two sixes in a tremendous knock of 147no which helped his side to 234-7 at Sutton. Ian Copsey chipped in with 41. The homesters managed 158 in reply with Richard Kidd making 63 as Nick Coppack claimed 6-24.

Ten man Cononley crashed by six wickets against Pendle Forest III, and Long Lee III were unable to raise a side for the second week running which handed the points to Foulridge.
