The Wynn Cup stands proudly on Oakworth's sideboard after a resounding eight-wicket win over Cowling.
The South Craven side started very briskly, but their policy of attack saw wickets fall at regular intervals.
It was not until the final pair were at the wicket with the score on 64-9, that any batsmen dug in and ground out some runs. Ben Thurston made nine and last-man Nick Staveley scored 11no to put on 22 for the last wicket and take the score to 86 all out in the 36th over.
Jason Lockley finished with 3-11 and Graham Rankin 3-31.
The Cure Hill side paced their innings well with skipper John Crossley to the fore. He made 44 as fellow opener Simon Howell scored just seven runs in 78 minutes but did the job asked of him. Mark Price hit a brisk 24 off 20 balls to finish the game in the 24th over.
Assistant League Secretary Eric Whiteley presented the trophies to the players on behalf of sponsors Dacre Son & Hartley. The umpires selected Oakworth's John Crossley as man of the match.
COWLING CUP FINAL
Glusburn and Embsay served up a terrific advert for second team cricket, with the two in-form batsmen of the competition strutting their stuff.
Glusburn were invited to bat by Embsay skipper Alan Robinson and lost their first wicket with the score on eight. The second fell 73 runs later after an 18-over partnership by Matthew Lloyd and Peter Barker who went for 27. Another wicket went six runs later before Tanveer Akbar added 46 for the fourth wicket. The tempo picked up with Lloyd going well. He lost George Garland at 160 and then with Mark Johnstone took the score to 193 where he perished for a magnificent 100, which included 12 fours and a six.
The last five overs produced 25 runs, as the innings closed on 218-9 with Johnstone 21 not out. Mick Hurst produced a flurry of wickets in the penultimate over, taking three in four balls to finish with 4-35 to go with youngster Marc Robson's 3-47.
Lloyd scored a total of 257 runs in the competition at an average of 86.
The Shires Laner side's innings got off to a brisk start with 36 coming in six overs when Robinson was out for 12. Chris Beck joined Brian Hodgson, and the pair stroked the ball to all parts of the field. They put on a superb 152 to take the score to 188 where Hodgson was bowled for a well-struck 96. His innings contained thirteen fours and one six.
Beck, who had struck the ball with some ferocity, was out six runs later for a tremendous 75 which included eleven fours and two sixes. When two more wickets fell quickly, Glusburn had a spring in their step again. However there were no more hiccups as Embsay retained their title with 27 balls to spare.
