The Manorlands cancer hospice was delighted when a company gave it £638.
Linen laundering and supply firm Initial Textile Services - part of the Rentokil Initial group - handed over a cheque for the amount to delighted fundraisers at the Oxenhope hospice after holding a sale. As part of a recent Europe-wide tender for the supply of linen products, a large quantity of samples from manufacturers worldwide were accumulated and, when they were no longer needed, they were sold to company employees.
The sale raised £319, which was match funded by Rentokil Initial.
Supplies manager at Initial Textile Services Michael Hardman said: "This is an extremely good result. It is wonderful to be able to help a local charity like Manorlands and we are pleased to assist such a good cause."
Manorlands fundraiser Sally Owthwaite said: "We are thrilled to receive this money. We really rely on contributions from people and it is thanks to efforts like this that we can continue to self-fund up here. We are grateful to the company for supporting us."
