A week-long operation to tackle the problem of unlicensed and abandoned vehicles is under way in the Spen Valley.
Road traffic officers from Heckmondwike are literally clamping down on untaxed vehicles with help from the DVLA and Kirklees Council.
Many of these vehicles are left at the sides of roads where they cause an obstruction or are in a dangerous position and could cause an accident.
Road Traffic Officers are targeting locations where these sorts of vehicles are known to have been abandoned. Offending vehicles are removed and, if they are not claimed within two weeks, are crushed.
Sergeant Alan Kaye, Dewsbury's Road Traffic Commander, said: "People should take this opportunity to contact us with details of those vehicles which are parked on the road untaxed and where they present an eyesore within the community.
"Reports will be treated with confidentiality."
