Crossflatts residents are flushed with the success of their campaign to help local teenager Laura Campbell.
So much so that they invited a plumber to finish the fundraising drive by having his head shaved.
Jonathan Alexander's scalping took place during a social night marking the end of efforts to help amputee Laura.
The highlight was a chance for the fundraisers to see Laura wearing the new £20,000 legs they helped buy.
Laura, 17, who had both legs amputated as a baby, is delighted with the cosmetic limbs. The life-like legs have beauty spots, hair follicles, muscle definition, tendons and veins, and the toes can be wriggled.
Fundraising by Laura's family and friends began in April last year, and reached its target last Christmas with an £11,500 donation from Skipton Properties.
Laura's mother Christine says Jonathan, a fellow regular at the Royal Hotel in Crossflatts, last year offered to raise money.
She says: "It's something Jonathan has wanted to do for some time but he didn't have the opportunity."
When she was planning the final social night Christine decided to ask him to have his head shaved.
Bradford man Jonathan hopes to raise up to £700 through sponsorship and a collection that was taken on the night.
The money may be used for costs associated with Laura's new legs, such as travel to a specialist clinic in Dorset for check-ups.
Christine says her daughter has spent the past few weeks learning how to use her replacement limbs.
Christine adds: "She's got over the initial problems and it's all coming together, but it will be a couple of months yet. In the end it will be worth it."
A film crew has been following Laura from the time she decided to replace her NHS legs with the new specialist limbs.
The half-hour programme is expected to be shown on ITV on Thursday, at about 10.30pm.
