Computer users in Keighley are being urged to turn web super sleuths by using their mouse to crack crime.
The public can now surf local images from CCTV and security cameras on a Crimestoppers page via the West Yorkshire Police web site www.westyorkshire.police.uk.
Local Crimestoppers spokesman Det Sgt Ian Froggett said: "A few clicks with a computer mouse will reveal photos of people we are trying to trace and members of the public could hold the key to solving many local crimes.
"The advantage with the Internet is that people can now log on at any time of the day or night to look at the information. They might have seen an appeal in the press or on TV and want to check the image again by looking at the web.
"They can take their time to check the photos to see if they recognise anyone and read details about each of the crimes.
"The smallest amount of information can make the biggest difference and lead to the criminals being arrested and dealt with appropriately.
"Callers to Crimestoppers are not asked any personal details, their calls are not taped and cannot be traced. Calls don't even show up on itemised billing. Callers will remain anonymous and they can still claim a cash reward."
The web site images are taken direct from CCTV and security cameras and feature people wanted in connection with a range of offences from robberies to vandalism.
The Crimestoppers number is 0800 555111.
