An Australian man has visited Keighley in search of the dark secrets of his mother's family.
Trevor Freestone, 68, hopes Keighley News readers can tell him details about his ancestors' time in the town.
His mother Ruth Decima emigrated to Australia at the age of eight with her parents and he grew up in Australia.
Mr Freestone, who has five children, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, has always wondered about his parents' English past.
He said: "We asked a good friend to try to trace them. She said there were things that we wouldn't want to know."
Intrigued by the comment, Trevor, his wife, daughter and son-in-law decided to carry out research during a visit to England this month.
He found a birth certificate for his mother stating she was born at 6 King Street, Keighley, in May, 1915.
Ruth's parents Charles, a labourer, and Eliza, married the previous November, aged 23 and 21, at the former St Mary's Church, in Keighley.
The couple were living at 56 Parkwood Street at the time of their marriage and in Back Kirkgate, Silsden, when Ruth was born.
Anyone who can help Mr Freestone should write to him at 9 Jubilee Street, Beckenham, Western Australia, 6107.
