IT WAS great to see over 1400 down at Cougar Park for the Sheffield game, I am just sorry we didn't take the spoils on the day. Believe me it wasn't without trying.
There was a very disapointed dressing room after the game and we know we will have to do things the hard way from here on in.
I beleive we have the character to do so and we couldn't have a tougher test than the visit to Peter Roe's Swinton Lions.
After our narrow victory at Cougar Park a few weeks ago I am sure we are in for another close encounter.
I played in a memorial golf match last weekend in honour of my good friend Hughie Brady the local policeman that died very suddenly and tragicaly in March this year. The match was between the Police and Branshaw members and raised funds for kidney research.
I was invited to play with the boys in blue. Playing opposite was former Keighley RL player Phil Buxton.
I must admitt to having a pretty good round but was really upset by Phil who constantly questioned my parentage and kept mentioning the fact that at least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
I was on the winning side which just proves that it's best to be on the right side of the law!
I am sure you will all wish Cougars conditioning coach Paul Royston all the best at his wedding to Amanda today.
I'm Paul's best man and we're going to the service in the Porche. Ashy has offered to be our chaffeur but there's no way the three of us could fit. Nice try Ashy. He might let you have a go before the end of the season. Besides, he hasn't let me have a go yet.
