Skipton CC's 150th anniversary celebrations continue at Sandylands on Sunday when a Skipton President's XI take on Airedale & Wharfedale League President's XI.

Ilkley's Phil Sant will lead the guest team, which will contain familiar faces in the shape of Alex Haworth from Steeton and David Daggett from Upper Wharfedale.

Skipton are hoping to include a celebrity guest in their ranks, but with both the Lancashire League and the Ribblesdale League in action, two potential sources have been cut off.

However, President Geoff Fryers is still exploring possibilities and may be heading for the Bradford League as he seeks to add a touch of spice to proceedings.

The League President's line-up for the match, which will start at 1.30pm, will be: Nigel Leech (North Leeds), Sam Smith (Otley), Jonathan Hughes (Ilkley), Alex Haworth (Steeton), Phil Sant (Ilkley) capt, Chris Wheeler (Burley), David Wright (Colton), Chris Wain (Guiseley), David Daggett (Upper Wharfedale), Scott Johnson (Otley), Neil Allitt (Green Lane).

Skipton put one foot back into Division B last Saturday as they completed a comfortable seven-wicket victory over third-placed Colton.

The result leaves Skipton practically assured of promotion. They currently sit nine points clear of Illingworth and 17 ahead of Horsforth and now need only two points from their remaining three games to guarantee promotion.

A win tomorrow at home to Woodhouse and anything worse than a losing draw for Illingworth would crown Skipton as champions.

Upper Wharfedale captain David Whitfield took his run tally for the season to 589 against Illingworth and now rejoices in an average of 65.45 per innings, but his efforts were not enough to stave off a 46-run reverse against the Halifax side
