Pudsey Congs are seeking a third successive Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions' Trophy title tomorrow at Adel CC (12.30).
They face Yorkshire League opposition in Harrogate, and hope to follow up their victories over Hanging Heaton at Liversedge in 2001 and Sheffield Collegiate at Streethouse last year.
Congs skipper Matthew Doidge said: "It doesn't look like we will have either James Middlebrook or Vic Craven available. But we have had a fairly settled ten players throughout the season, apart from missing Naveed Rana ul-Hassan for the first two matches.
"One of our main problems is that the players below No 5 haven't had a bat in their hand for a while."
Doidge is uncertain as to how long overseas player ul-Hassan will be staying in Britain. He said: "It depends how we do."
Doidge has respect for Harrogate's opening batsmen John Inglis and Alexis Twigg, and added: "They also have a couple of good all-rounders."
After a disappointing start to the Yorkshire League campaign, Harrogate have since climbed the table, but they
are too far behind to win the title.
Pudsey Congs: M Doidge (captain), A Bethel, P Carroll, B Butt, A Bairstow, N Rana ul-Hassan, G Roberts, N Gill, G Brook, M Bray, A N Other.
Matthew Doidge has captained the Bradford League to five victories in their six matches so far this season, and the only remaining contest is the match against Congs on Sunday, September 21 at the Britannia Ground.
Doidge's only defeat was afgainst Yorkshire at Undercliffe on Tuesday, August 19. The league side needed four runs off the last over with Doidge facing but they fell to a narrow defeat, with Doidge admitting: "I thought about that for a few days."
It seems certain that Congs will have first refusal on their own players next month, Bradford League chairman graham reid saying: "We should be able to pick a fairly strong side from the rest of the clubs."
Craven League side Cullingworth will be looking for revenge when they meet Silsden in the Keighley Cup final for the second year in a row at Lawkholme Lane tomorrow (1.30).
Cullingworth lost to their neighbours by four runs 12 months ago after a last-wicket stand of 36 took them to within sight of victory.
Silsden reached the 2003 final by beating fellow Aire-Wharfe side Harden, while Cullingworth beat Bingley Congs (Bradford Central League) in the other 'semi.'
Sixteen teams from three different leagues entered this year's competition.
