With only Queensbury 100 per cent after the first two rounds of league games, the Alliance Premier Division could prove the toughest yet to win.

Working on results from the opening fixtures, the first match form went out of the window last week when Calverley Victoria bounced back from a 7-1 setback at Fairweather Green to halt high-flying Holme Wood Athletic, and Queens Athletic were winners at the other division newcomers Pudsey Royal.

Roger Eli's Queensbury are at Crown on Sunday and, with games traditionally close between the sides and not forgetting Crown's first half 3-0 up performance against Albion last week, Eli will be looking to the versatile Martin Pattison up front who has carried his pre-season friendly form into league games.

After suffering at their hands in last season's Dstrict Cup semi-final, Holme Wood may well rue the loss of Robert Harrison, out with a broken leg, when Fairweather Green visit. Especially as Green's striker John Penn, who had a tasty little battle with his brother Jimmy who was marking him in last week's encounter with East Bowling Unity, has looked red hot.

Top game in Division One sees the two sides who started their season with big wins last Sunday clash. Stanley Road meet West Bowling in a rehearsal for the forthcoming District Cup tie and Sunday's game may well

indicate how promotion from the division could lie this season.
