Nicky Law has expressed his desire to sign a new contract at City and today declared: "I have a job to do here - and it is far from

finished."

The Bantams boss shrugged off speculation linking him with the vacant managerial position at West Ham and is now aiming to extend his current contract, which expires at the end of the season.

Chairman Gordon Gibb has already publicly stated his intentions to secure Law on a new deal, which he described as "heavily incentivised".

Negotiations will begin in the near future to secure the future of Law, who since being appointed manager in January 2002, has steered City to safety two seasons in a row.

He said: "I'm very keen to sign a new contract and hopefully it can all be sorted out soon. Julian Rhodes (chief executive) has been on holiday and I think it will be a case of him, the chairman and myself sitting down together and ironing things out then."

And while Law admitted he was flattered at his name being linked with the Hammers job, he believes there remains much to be achieved at City.

"It's flattering to be linked with such a big job but I'm completely focused on what we are trying to achieve here at Bradford.

"We are bringing in a lot of young players and I think in a couple of years time we will see the rewards of our efforts. It's all part of a plan over the next two to three years and we need to be patient."

Law believes that his impressive track record of working within tight budgets was instrumental in his name being linked with the West Ham post.

"It was probably a factor because we have had to trim everything right back here, like West Ham are now having to do," said Law.

"We have a plan here which can help us to achieve long-term success and I want to be here to see that through."
